Troubleshooting - Iron Consistency by Tom Stickney Tom Stickney - A Top 100 Golf Teacher Tom Stickney – A Top 100 Golf Teacher

Hi I'm Tom Stickney Golf Magazine Top 100 Instructor and today I want to talk to you about consistency with your irons. Consistency with your irons comes two facets number one you must hit the ball solid teo you must hit the ball the the right distance. So if you're hitting the ball unsolid that you know if you know that there is a pivoting issue. You're not twisting it turning just placing weight correctly and that's moving the low point around so what I would do is draw the line right here practice making divots on the line forward.

What's going to happen there is when you make a divots on the line and forward you're going to hit the ground in the same place that's going to give you that pivot control is going to help you get more solid. If you're losing control distance wise that should tell you something to beat the other piece down maybe the arm beating the hips maybe beating the arms and we want to have everything working together. In order to do that feel your armpits your arms pressing into your chest right here get some shots in to really get the feeling that everything working back and through together. That's going to help you hit the right distance remember in order to be consistent you must hit the ball solid and you must hit the ball the correct distance work on it and you'll be better.
