Lag in the golf swing is often misunderstood and regularly overlooked by club golfers. Creating lag is the process of adding some angle between the shaft of the golf club and the arms during the backswing and downswing phase. The releasing of the lag can generate a good amount of club head speed and is also responsible for squaring the club head during the impact phase.
So if there was a secret move in the golf swing one that club golfers that could actually get their hands on this secret that one secret in the golf swing is going to be the lag move Pete. Quite a nice move it's an interesting move because it happens very very quickly yeah unless you break the swing down and slow it down look for you probably don't see it there. So for a lot of golfers you asked them they don't know what happened so that's what we sort of term it a bit of a secret.
Definitely yeah and it's like you say it happens so quickly we got to understand what it is why we need it and if we've got a what we're going to see from it. So if you were to jump on the tee here for us Pete what firstly what it's like what is this secret move that everyone's whispering about from other people like his wrist hinge setting the club in the backswing. So from an address position we take that club away by cocking the wrist some people thought about that really that the line and the forearm for most people talk about we want to create at least 90 degrees.
