If you'd like to strike your shots better I want to share with you a little feeling that might really help you understand the sequencing in the golf swing, and I want you to think of where your shirt buttons are. In my case I've got a zip here on my sweater where that's going to be at certain key points in the swing. If you're prone to slicing I can assure you that from the top of this swing you shirt buttons are going to early you'll be tending to spin out. So the shoulders are getting to open and the club is getting out in front of you coming across the golf ball, but if you're a hooker of the golf ball you may well be keeping those shirt buttons back too long they arms are releasing in the clubs releasing over getting a little stuck. So the chest and upper body is still too much behind the golf ball, and this is making the club over accelerate and turn left. So monitoring those shirt buttons where they're going to be pointing in the swing is really key.
When we arrived back in a good impact position the hips of opened up and the shirt buttons are just pointing out of the ball ideally like so, but as I said to you you can play about with the feeling to get the right sequencing. So if you're prone to slicing it what I'd like you to do from the top of your swing you shirt buttons back longer keep them facing away from the target in your mind as long as you can. By doing that that's going to help the club catch up get the sequence right where the body is not dominating it too much, and using the club. Conversely if you are hooking the golf ball and pushing it I'd definitely like you to feel that you have to turn the shirt buttons earlier. They're going to travel with the golf club a little bit more if they're traveling with the club and turning earlier the clubs not going to close as soon and you're going to be able to square it up. So monitor where those shirt buttons are what you feeling with them through the impact zone. You are really going to help you improve your sequencing and timing and striking it better.
