If you'd like to hit your wedges closer to that pin it's really important you're able to control the distance of your shots and of course we know the traditional things you'll see on the internet and books and so on you've got to control your stance set up. You've got to control the length of your swing the rotations of your body how far back and through swing there definitely big factors are going to control the distance. One missing link for many people is their understanding controlling the gearing of the swing the pace or the tempo of the swing. I could make 2 swings the same length but if one was substantially faster than the other the ball's going to come off the club face much quicker and therefore go further. So what tour players are able to do they're able to control the ball speed off the face by controlling the tempo and gearing of the swing, and when I say gearing think of it like gears in a car you've got 1st gear or 2nd year or 3rd gear 4th gear getting faster and anybody who drives.

Obviously understands and learns the principle of the gears by the noise of the engine and so on what I'd really like you to do with your wedge is lock into 3rd gear so rather having a short quick tempo or a tempo that's too slow and artificial. I'd like you to just lock into 3rd gear and that's almost a tick tock sort of motion so it literally take tock tick tock. Gravity is going to make it come down a little quicker without you trying to throw hit it and if you can master this tempo tick tock you can then join that with the length of you swing and you'll really start to see some consistency. So let's try this we are going to hit 2 or 3 shots. So let's see if I can replicate that tempo each time so traditional set up a little in my head of the little mantra tick tocks tick tock. Same again tick tock, and all those balls of pitch within 3 or 4 feet of each other and that's because regulated the gearing. You lock into 3rd gear, tick tock you'll find you start to get a lot more distance control with those wedge shots.
