Hey, I am going to show you a really good drill to help you crisp up your chipping action. And we are going to look at this drill, chipping coins. So if you take a coin, medium size, it would be absolutely fine and we are going to place this on the floor and work on getting the club head strike down, so that the coin flips up into the air. Okay, the reason this is going to really make you a lot more accurate with your chipping, is the coin sitting so flat to the floor and you need to be so accurate to make that happen that you will obviously, when we put a ball back in, find it a lot easier and hit a lot more accurately and crisp that shot up.

If the coin is on the floor, and you are striking the floor too early, the club is going to bounce up and go over the top and that would have meant that you would have hit a thin shot. So what we want to work on here is that the club comes in and strikes the coin, just on the back of the coin and it will flip the coin up into the air. So I am going to do that, rather than hitting it straight out on to the driving range, I am going to do that hitting it into this wall here. So we are going to take up a good setup position for chipping. Hold down the handle for a little bit more control, we are going to have the coin or the ball placed in the middle of the feet and just draw the left foot back a few inches. It will just help open the hips, get the left side out of the way, so that you can follow through really nicely. Add slightly more weight on the left side that will allow you to just pick the club head up a little bit more, getting you to strike down a little bit crisper and we are going to keep the hands ahead as we set up. That just means the hands are on the left of the club head and the golf ball as you are looking at them. Work on keeping a straight line from the left shoulder down the left arm to the left hand and then down the club into the club head. So we want to hinge the wrists and then strike down, catching the turf, where the coin would be. So just have a go at doing that, you throw a coin down, we are going to set up middle of the feet, put the left foot back, wait on the left, hands are ahead, and we are just going to clip the back of the coin, so that we hit it into the wall. If you work on doing that, that will really help you get a lot more accurate and you will find that your chipping massively improves.
