Making a good stroke on a putt is only a small part of holing more putts, many putts on the golf course do not roll straight towards the hole therefore it is imperative that a golfer is able to read the green and adjust the line and speed accordingly. Reading greens can be improved by following a few simple checkpoints as highlighted in this video by Pete and Matt.
Matt I'm going to give you the opportunity to teach these good people a putting tips about how they can read the green. Ok before that I'm just gonna nip off and run you a bath oh right Ok you can explain to these good ladies and gentlemen why running a bath when tipping on the green might help. Definitely it's a great way to actually paint a mental image in everyone at home as mind of what actually is going to happen when we put the water on the floor.
Even if it wasn't a green if it was you know anywhere on the golf course and you find yourself high or low or whatever if you think of pouring water onto the surface it's going to flow with gravity down to the lower part. So when we get on to greens we're here on one of the putting greens now I can distinctively see that the camera we've got over here is a lot higher than the one that set over here. I know that down there where we've just come from on the range is a lot lower for me so if I were to pour the water from the bathroom over near that camera I bet your last dollar that it would be running past our feet back down towards the practice ground this way because the land is higher up in this side than it is there.
