Turn Don't Sway In Your Golf Backswing - (Video) Lesson by PGA Pros Pete Styles and Matt Fryer

During the golf swing that's 2 really important phases one is a phase where we generate power and one is the phase where we use that power. We could think of that the backswing and the downswing in the backswing we generate the power and in a downswing we release the power. You can't get one without the other but it's very important that in the backswing we generate the power in the right way Matt the otherwise there's not enough power to use for the downswing, yes true.

So we want to get this upper body to do a really good job of turning that against quite a stable platform because if the upper body to the platform stable talks through the issues are going to happen. Definitely, if we got all unstable lower half what we would tend to see is a lot of sliding motion here where the hips are working back and forth laterally left to right right to left sway and that golf swing too much. Definitely, if we have got that's really going to impart real poor strikes because the low point of our arc is going to be moving so much around on the backswing it'll be tough to sink the strike back with the actual release of the golf club.
