Left Hand Golf Tip: Surveying Putts to Get the Right Read by Tom Stickney

Lefties only golf tip: Hi I'm Tom Stickney Golf Magazine Top 100 Instructor and today I want to talk to you about reading greens. The protocol that I tend to follow on reading greens the 1st thing I'm going to do when I drive my cart up to the green is I'm going to look at the overall topography the of the land and I'm going to look at what I see from the fairway driving to the green. You know is the green sitting on a hill as it leaning forward or backwards what have you. You get a lot of information when you drive up the green as you look at from a 100 yards. The 2nd thing I do is when I get on the green itself I look at the 4 corners of the green and what I want to see is based on where I am is that side of the green higher is that so the green lower or vice versa that gives me an overall understanding of what I'm standing on.
