So how to make a chip shot spin a little bit more grab a bit more on the green. I’m not going to promise you we are going to get the ball spinning back because that’s almost impossible for a chip shot. But we can make it stop a little bit quicker just by some simple factors in the equipment we are using, the ball that we are using and the surface that we are hitting off and onto. So when we see on the TV and you see the guys on tournaments certainly the Masters and the golfers when they chip it on the even rapid greens you see the ball bounce, bounce and almost rough the surface and then run out. And you go down to your local golf club and don’t get quite that same reaction on the golf balls. A couple of keen factors really. First of we need to make sure that our golf club is super clean and got sharp grooves. So make sure all the grooves on your golf club are really clean there is no debri in, there is no grass, mould or dirt and also you need fairly new wedges to achieve the maximum out spin. So make sure they are nice and sharp the wedges as well. The next thing is the quality of the golf ball, we don’t want to be using a hard cover golf ball we want to be using a nice soft premium golf ball that’s got a cover that’s going to grab to the face a little bit. Also that’s going to help it spin when it hits the green as well so it's going to bite a little bit more.

The next thing is the surface, so we don’t want to be, if we chipping out the rough it's not going to spin Because the club is not going to make clean contact with the ball, it's not going to almost squash it against the surface a bit to get a ball spinning back. So we need to make sure that we are on a fairly decent line. These are all the outside factors that you need to bear in mind to get more spin. So once you set up chipping methods you get more spin this is the same chipping method as you would do normally. So ball in the middle your stumps nice narrow stumps it's going to lean the weight a little bit into my left hand side. I’m going to accelerate through the shot quite aggressively so that’s going to help in just increase that level of speed and the last factor is the grid. How receptive is it? How fast is it? It needs to be fairly receptive so it needs to have a bit of bounce to it, it needs to have a bit to give to it. Otherwise is going to land on the grid and just shoot of the front and there is no point that. So we are going to make sure that all these factors, we’ve got clean grooves, we’ve got sharp grooves, a premium golf ball, we’ve got a perfect setting technique and the set up for that. Give it a bit of acceleration and once it lands it's going to bounce bounce and just pull up a little bit. I’m not saying it's going to come back at your feet by any stretch, but it's just going to have a little bit of check on it bounce, bounce and then it will run out and release. So backspin it's not about spinning their back it's just creating a little bit more grab on the grid so you can control your chip shots to get you really close to the flag.
