What Is Swinging The Handle Golf Swing Teaching (Video) - by Peter Finch

Because golf is such a hard game and because there are so many golf pros out there wanting to help, there are many different types of teaching techniques that people use to try and help people improve their games. Now one of these is swinging the handle technique. Swinging the handle is a simple idea which has helped many, many golfers swing through the ball much more effectively and hit more consistent golf shots. Swinging the handle refers to a technique which focuses on the hands and the grip rather than the club head. So when you’re swinging the handle, the whole idea of the technique is to not focus on the club head but get a consistent grip and then just focus on where the hands are taking the grip.

What this generally does is it softens the grip and it focuses the player on moving the handle back and through the ball. And by focusing on the handle position, the club head will take care of itself. This is different than a lot of teaching philosophies which focus solely on moving the club head on a plane or moving the club head through on a better path. This takes focus away from this part of the club which strikes the ball and moves it onto the hands and the handle. And I say it has achieved much success for many, many players. Now what we’re going to do is talk through a little bit more about this technique, how you can give it a go and how you can see if it will help your game moving forward.
