Through an amount we've talked and and learned quite a bit now about having the right mindset for going out in the game and golf. You might stand on the first tee and think right this is my day going to shoot a really good score got a really positive mindset really confident about the way I play. and here we go for the challenge and you drive down the first and it bounces slightly sideways to the semi rough and you walk down there. It's a big part of cabbages in a really bad light sitting down in a bit of a davit with a big piece of grass over the top of it and branches overhanging. Suddenly what was a decent tee shot actually turned out to be quite a difficult situation and it's about how you deal with the mindset as much as the physicality of been in that situation that can affect how you might play the shot or even how you might play the rest of the round of golf. Some golfers when they see the ball in that situation will throw the bag on the floor I can't believe that I was really positive about today I hit one good shot look where it's finished up it's in this bad place I can't possibly play this shot this is going to ruin my whole day and the golfer often knock it onto the green three putt it make a double bogey.

Surely that whole positive mindset just disappeared and that one bad lie not only is it cost them a bad score but it's actually cost them the whole positive mindset for the rest of the day and therefore probably plenty more bad scores. A different mindset in that same situation might walk down there and go well this is unfortunate I found myself in a bad situation I'm going to take confidence from the fact that I have a good shot to get here so I'm not really had a bad shot tough situation. Granted I know I'll take my medicine from this situation or move on so I'll choose the appropriate club choose an appropriate position or line out I'll hit the best shot I come from that position. OK So now I'm back in play now I've actually hit two good charts so I play to hit two good ones I'm still pretty confident I can now chip it on to the green worst case scenario I take two putts and I make myself a bogey but I made a bogey even I've actually hit five pretty decent shots to do this and the bogey wasn't really my fault. So I'm pretty confident I'm playing well ready to go to the next hole so the same scenario can have two different outcomes not only in terms of the score but in terms of your mental approach. Now it's easier to say be positive than actually to be positive you know. We've all been our situation where you get yourself a bad lie or a bad break or a bad bounce but actually changing your mindset might change the way you think about those situations and actually how you react to those situations when they happen again to change your mindset when you get a bad lie.
