Stop Lifting And Start Swinging The Golf Club (Video) - by PGA Instructor Peter Finch

If you are lacking a little bit of power and if you want to make a sweeter connection with the golf ball, one thing that you should be looking at within your technique, is how your arms are moving in relation to your body. What you see a lot of golfers do, in a quest to try and get the swings started off to a really nice point and to try and add a little bit more power. Is as the club moves away from the ball, the arms begin to lift up the club away from the body. Now when this happens the arms become disconnected, but you also lose a lot of power. So the arms come up away from the body, the shoulders don’t rotate and they are into this position.

It’s something which you see, very, very commonly we have seen a golfers, some like lady golfers as they just try and get the club up to this point. Now the problem with this is as that club moves up to that point you are not going to be able to swing the club effectively through, because the arms have to come down and reconnect with the body and then move down into windpipe. And you are cutting down a lot of the potential power and energy that you need to be using within the technique. If you are lifting up your arms away from your body hopefully what this little video series will do, is enable you to keep on the swinging a little bit better and not lifting through the point of impact, we are going to cover lots of different aspects and hopefully this will help you within your game.
