One of the main reasons that lady golfers can struggle with consistency or with achieving distance is to do with the movement on their backswing. So what we want we to do during this swing tip, is to have a look at how to get you to actually swing the golf club back rather than lifting it back to the top of the golf swing. So if you get set up and you take in a nice wide stance, very well balanced address position, if you are using your arms too much during the swing and you are making a lifting action into your backswing position, it really will restrict the rotation that you can create from your body. And if we want to start learning to swing the club better, we want to rotate from the upper body and make a more rounded swinging action, rather than an arms up lifting action. Now two problems with the arms up action, first of all making the arms up actions the clubs being lifted very, very vertically, so as it comes back down to the ball it's going to be dropping very vertically and you are going to tend to hit the top of the golf ball. That’s going to cause you problems with getting the ball out ball and also all of your energy is moving downwards and straight down towards the floor. So the energy that you do manage to put into the golf swing is going that way.

We want to start to make more of a swinging action, more of a rotational movement, so as you work on turning your upper today 90 degrees to the right and creating more rotation, your arms will feel like they are travelling around you much lower, but as you can swing back into the ball from here a much lower angle with the club head, you'll find that the club gets presented back to the ball at much gentler angle and it comes in to the side of the ball rather than dropping down on top of the ball. So it's going to help you to get a more consistent strike, but also as you’re swinging through with a more rotational movement, you can see that your energy and power is moving this way out towards the target, so you are going to start generating a lot more power. So move your golf swing from being an arms-up and a lifting action and start to work on swinging the club back more with a more rotational movement and you should finally get a massive improvement with your golf.
