So now I am going to highlight a few practical impact position practice drills you can work on. Now ideally you would be working on these on the driving range cause a lot of these drills they don't have a full hit behind them they aren't full power shots. it's difficult to go to the coals and sort of chip the ball round there in these drills because on the course you know want to have it in full power so these drills focus on the driving range lots and lots of repetition. Cause impact position happens so quickly and it's so difficult to judge exactly why you would need to repeat these a few times and sort of trying to change the muscle memory if you can to make sure that your position is a solid as possible because it's happened so quickly the feedback can be quite difficult. So what we're looking for here is really feedback where we're listening for a good strike why we're looking for a slightly different ball flight to normal and that would encourage you to understand that you have changed something about it now the 1st one you might do is just take a 7 iron head to the driving range in front of you and just trying to chip those balls out lowest possible. Now low in an impact position some people think we. Should be trying to you know hit the ball up in the air will the loft on the club will always make the ball go in the air if the strike is good but the point of trying to hit is often low is going to be a more solid impact position rather than I bought in part position scooping a lot of the poor impact positions we see as golf coaches of people leaning back firing the right hand to early scooping the ball up in the. Positions will result in poor quality sound strikes and poor height.

So the scooping up too much so what we want with a 79 drill here is a little harsh swing back trying to get nicely onto your front like hold your hands in front of the ball and actually chip the golf ball down a little bit so it goes lower and it sounds good. I can't stress the importance of the sound in the feel of a good quality impact position the next drill of that she would like to take on board just with the wage you're going to pull sets of parents going down this way. I'm actually going to stay in my impact position and not look up and follow through it's all not quite often we're encouraging golf is to follow through to a big full balance finish but not on a exercise this exercise we're going to just chip the ball forward in whole position down here and try and get the club to stop as close to impact as possible. So we don't have the big full follow through. So if they're set up back through and hold it here and you can see in this position that my impact position is pretty much held I've hit through the ball you can see my right heel lift it is a right handed golfer left heel is down in heavy left leg he snapped but nice and straight eyes are down over the golf ball chest down hands haven't really released. This way round would be looking at this sort of shot may notice that wasn't a full hits it was like a probably a 50 yard wide shot something like that half back and through and how old he wasn't the big 4 finish because if I get to my full finish I kind of lose what my in part because it would look like if you're doing this correctly he should feel like you can just wind up slightly to impact if you're doing this incorrectly you get him and think a lot like on the video camera that's not the position I should be in. So go ahead and practice those little pitching drills as well not down 7 and drills on the driving range and see how that can help improve your golf impact position.
