So if we’re going to be pulling the hands down and leading into the impact position, the club head leading the way – sorry, the hands leading the way and the club head getting to the golf ball after the hands and arms, it’s also important to investigate some other issues in the address – sorry, in the impact position that are different to how they were in the address position. So let me just bring the golf ball in here and we can see that as we set up the golf ball, we would be standing like this. The impact position is not the same.

We don’t want to bring the club down and come back to exactly the same position. The impact position is going to be different. At impact, my hips are going to be left of target so my hips are going to have opened because I’m right-handed golfer that means my hips are pointing left of the intended target. My eyes are going to be fixed down on golf ball so I’m not looking up to where I like to see where the ball is gone. And quite importantly, my body weight is shifting into my front leg so my body weight is driving into my left-side here. So left side is heavier but importantly this foot is flat on the floor. We don’t really want to see this left foot with the big toe rolling out and all the body weight going onto the little club. We definitely don’t want to see the heel with all the white and the toes up in the air or even the heel in the air and all the body weight on the toes. So it’s quite important that we get his set up position and impact is going to be here, a nice flat left foot, eyes down on the golf ball, hips are open, body weight into that left side. And you can see as I do that, it does promote a nice hands of the head. So I was getting into my impact position here, my hands would win the race, there’d be a head and this would be impact on the golf ball. So as I turn this way around now to hit the shot, I’m going to strike through and then come back to impact so I set up this one position, impact to the different position, and as I come back down, my impact position would be about here. Hands are leading, left foot flat on the floor, right foot up to allow my hips to rotate this way, so set up is one, the impact is slightly different. If you can help yourself by visualizing that really good impact position, that’s going to encourage your hands to be in front of the golf ball to hit better sweeter golf shots.
