We're going to look today much at the fundamentals the one I was drawing and fading the golf ball so I notice you put something in it we've got a problem we've got a problem got a problem got a prop out here so this is a noodle that was put in the ground a foam noodle from a golf ball that hits its not going to cause any damage to the noodle or anybody around and that's set up in a target line directly ball target lies if I just publish to here that's. How the base starts is a middle somewhere for us so an exercise maybe you can see your own driving range or practice grounds a couple pages that's 6 pages out stick that in front on you pull the target line and then how much are we now going to use that on the stand to draw and face going to get was an idea of where the ball started. Number one I think fades and draws there's been the old faces open faces clothes We've got older son 2 things where the where the face is pointing at impact relative to this photo. Yes and also where the club swinging and then we blend those 2 things together to get a clear path and a call to face relationship path and face.

It was interesting that you talk about starting direction because I see a lot of golfers who might slice the golf or typical slice finishes down the right hand side you think when it starts going to the right because it finishes for the right but obviously it starts in a different place the slice will start left and finish right. Yes that's important because if the staff left where the face left is he's one of those you've got a close call placed to the target it's like some people can't do a flight it's got to be open it's open to the pass right talks for it was so if we start with the say like you say who is ahead direction great shot the court will be swinging directly at Target in the face will be looking directly at a target both things are much no where near on a track but there are likewise. With the fade shot what we need to do in a fade as we clarify this is something that starts left of target and finishes directly on target so fade is a good shot.

You know here is perfect and a draw shot again is something to start a riot. Finishing on target they have to finish on target to be shot to be drawn to say we really want to have good shots you cannot fade a ball into a pond you cannot draw a ball into a pond in the whole course like. For the right handed golfer if you left handed we apologize just reversed those things around for the feta felt like such that you were going to have a closed face but to the target number one so as I draw some lines on the screen here now what we're going to see is something where if I hit my fade you'll notice that it's aiming let's call it 2 inches left of this so noodle now and then the difference is now where the open face comes in which is the traditional thought for the fade is actually where the corpse swings that are part of the line and now we see that it's actually left of where the face is aiming so we've got something on the face open to the possible close to the target so I see my ball start slightly left of the foam and work back onto it from that. I feel that I'm swinging last but my face is a little bit right as I hit it but it's just looking slightly left at the target as we go to make sure it's finishing back on target which would hopefully I can get this on one of my favorite shots. All right the same time but that was lovely and again it did do exactly what Matt said excess off left of targets we know the face was left with a fade was close to target but it cut back.

The fade must have been open to the chosen path you have it was more or less exactly. Now a slice would just be a greater version of the back exactly where the difference between where the path and the face are is too big so the Indian we're talking numbers tracked under those flights going over the past might be 10 to the last the face might be one to the left 9 is too big a number the ball is going to close off line particularly if we're using bigger clubs drivers 3 with hybrids that people would put too much but the dynamics of the spade in the supply are the same it's just controlling the Yaquis looking for heart was the parameter on a truck when our flight to go to area to school already had a call but yeah if I use that analogy of 10 to the left with my path in my face and 5 to the left that's half that kind of work now that talks is through the drop shots on this next one actually just so you know again just flipped on its head really so we had the face looking slightly left of target there is a further modal now for the draw I'm going to get my face actually looking slightly right OK The difference is this time I'm going to be swinging further out to the right so the face is now close to that path and if you do you know you'll have a proper hold watching the video as well as going to have a common shot a tendency that will naturally generally hit so if you can get one that you really comfortable with as a starting point that's always going to help you so again as we draw the lines on what we see is that face now impact it will be just slightly right to the phone noodle for the club direction and again is a little bit further right of that so we say hopefully if we can get this draw or a shot now going on then. It's. The small out of 2 folks who don't see why people put one of those on the golf of which you're not allowed to do but you're not allowed to March out there and take that in from the beach but if you did what it shows they would not just by having a target line marked on the fairway in front and got a real opportunity to shape the ball around it one way with a draw on the round it with another way would affect like so if you can get that out there as you practice and it gives you such a great understanding of where the ball is you know and a visual as well as you know as we set up or so you know it's a tree that I'm going to work it around this it brings a bit of imagery into the mind as well since if that was a tree trunk you would play that shot drills and fade back to Target on the base the past locally if you let that sort of information their albums all but if you're not comfortable that information please we watch the video again because it sounds complicated but if you want to stand face to path open to close in relation to each other and in relation to target your goals will explode and its ability to understand how you hit the ball on the golf course and how you can make for the on the go correction understanding your own game and I reckon you'll understand your playing part of the game as well you'll know why then curving the ball into the trees all the time watch the video couple of times if you need to and hopefully that information that's matched passed on will really help you understand drills and aids.
