As a golfer we're trying to work really hard to swing the club in the smoothest the most efficient fashion to hit the golf ball where we want. Be the 300 yards down the middle with a driver or hole or 2 foot putt with a putter and the only connection we have to be implement we're using is our grip. So of course the grips really important we have to get that right we have to be able to put the right import into the club to get the desired result and our link through our grip.
So if you're struggling with your grip or it's a while since you've checked your grip let me just run through a couple of quick check points for you. To start with as a right handed golfer I'm going to go with my left hand on top of the club and I'm going to have it just half an inch down from the top I don't like to see golfers holding their grip too high up you got a worn spot at the top of your glove chances are you're holding it too high up. This reduces control I'm going to move it just half an inch down that I feel like I'm holding it predominantly in the fingers and I'm going to count some knuckles I'm going to count the knuckles on the back of my left hand so that's my top hand has a right and a golfer and I've got 2 and I can just see the outline of a half of the 3rd so I would say that's a 2 and a half knuckle grip.
