If you are familiar with hybrid clubs already, you might be aware that sort of used as a replacement for a 3, 4 or 5 iron replacing your long irons, but actually hybrid clubs could be a little bit more versatile than maybe the old long irons were as well. You often see the best players in the world they use the hybrid clubs from a mired of different situations to try and help them. So one of the shots you might consider would be a like a long pitch and run from just off the fringe of degree and if you have got nothing to go over, you just need to get the ball down and get the ball running. You could play a hybrid club for this, it has just enough loft to lift the ball for the first couple of feet and then roll the ball out, but also because the rounded sole on the hybrid, it won’t dig into the ground quite as much as it might be with the sand wedge or a pitching wedge. It would just skim off the surface and just get the ball nicely rolling towards the hole. So a nice long pitch and run with the hybrid clubs quite nice.

Also, useful to play the hybrid out of the fluffy grass, maybe you know it’s going to be good on the fairway but maybe if you just into the semi rough on the side of the fairway, and the ball is not sitting particularly well, a hybrid club because it has a nice low center of gravity will cut underneath the golf ball, get the ball back out nice and high. So don’t worry if that lies isn't brilliant, your hybrid club can still be quite useful for that one.

And again the lie if it’s a bit bare and it’s a bit trim, it’s a bit neat or maybe it’s on a well warm patch where people or bogies go on the golf course and it’s a very bad lie. Your hybrid club again, the low center of gravity will cut underneath the ball and get the ball nice and high. If that lie isn't very good, you might just decide to play the ball slightly back in your stance to get to clean and better contact. And if you have a good lie you could play a hybrid slightly further forward, but generally your hybrid is quite a versatile club, so don’t be afraid to experiment with it and see how it works for you out on the golf course.
