You know a lot of times people come in here and they don't really understand what the hands do and when you don't understand the roles of the hand it's very difficult for you to make the putt do what you want. The lead hand controls the blade alignment so if the lead hand is bouncing all over the place you can see the putter faces bounce all over the place. Now where the blade is pointing post-impact controls 83 percent of ball air so this is a very very important drill where you control your lead hand. So all you want to do is practice putting with your lead hand and what you're going to see is when you do that you're going to have a lot of control over what's going on with the face of your putter and that's very very important because that controls direction.

Now the 2nd thing we want to look at is we want to look at your trailing hand your trailing hand has a bend in it and when there's a bend in your rear wrist that controls the loft of the putter. If the rear wrist goes like this the loft of the putter goes like this that controls your speed so when you putt with your rear wrist you want to make sure that there's a bend and it stays intact the whole way and what that does is that controls the speed of the ball leaving the blade. So remember your lead hand controls direction which is 83 percent of ball air your trailing hand controls loftof the putter which is the speed so when you put your hands on the putter together you must control line and you must control speed by making sure whatever grip you use that the lead and trailing hand are working together. So practice with your forward hand if you want to work on line practice with your rear hand if you want to work on speed give it a whirl.
