Hi I'm Tom Stickney Golf Magazine Top 100 Instructor and today were going to talk about some set up flaws that will influence your full swing. The 1st thing I want to talk about is your spine tilt you see right here my spine is very straight up and down now because my right hand is below my left hand on the golf club my spine is inclined to be the right of center as you see right here and you can see in the rear that I tilt just a little right you see in the left angle my right shoulder is below my left shoulder. Now whenever you have a spine angle that is to straight up and down it tends to open the shoulders.

Whenever you have a spine angle that leads much to the right it has to close the shoulders. So what you have to figure out is how the spinal tilt you need some players might have very little and that keeps them centered some players like to have a little bit more gets a little bit deeper behind the golf ball and other players might have a whole bunch because it gives them a lot of width. You know it really doesn't matter what a spinal position you play from as long as you understand what it does but I will tell you there's a right hand is below the left there will be just a touch of spinal tilt to the right and then from there you have to make the determination of how much spinal tilt you want because the more spine tilts to the right the more club wants to work around the flatter the right shoulder wants to turn the more the spine leans to the left the more the club wants to go up and the higher the right shoulder wants to go back. So work on your spinal tilt and that will help you to understand how to move your weight around as well as how to change your backstroke plane.
