We've covered a slight amount of the mental side in not committing to shots, but is there anything technical within your swing which could be causing you not to commit? There are some things within the goal swing, which could inhibit the flow with speed and the flow through the point of impact. Now, one of those things is making sure that your sequencing and the sequence of power that you use in the downswing is correct. If people get stuck into this part of the golf swing, stuck in this part of the golf swing then it is possible to hit some bad shots.

Now the sequence of power that you should be using; as you take it up to the top of the golf swing you got a nice full shoulder turn, hips have turned slightly but stayed nicely braced. And from here what you want to be seeing is the lower half moving down towards the target. So the initial movement from the top of the back swing are the hips bumping off to the left hand side. Now from here you want to see the lower half start to rotate as the hands dropdown nearer towards the body, and then they continue to turn through and extend down towards the target. If you have one of these pass at the sequence out of sync it can become hard as they then commit to the shot. For example, if you get over to the top of the swing and your first movement is to throw the hands and the club at the ball you'll notice here that my weight transfer is shifted back on to my right foot. I then have to slow my swing down to try and clip the ball away nicely and cleanly. Now this could be an example of how something technical wrong within your sequencing, is not allowing you to commit to the shot. So if you just want to check those key points making a full turn to the top of the swing, but bumping the hips towards the target to initiate the weight transfer. Then carrying the weight transfer left rotating the lower half. As the hips continue to rotate, the upper body then rotates, and the last thing to move through the ball are the hands and the club head. And as they move through the ball they extend outwards toward your target and accelerating all the time. This is one of the areas that could be technically wrong, and if you focus on that area hopefully, hopefully you should be able to commit through the golf shot a little bit easier.
