Why do people say that an inside to outside golf path is better for my golf game? Now what a lot of people feel and what a lot of people think is that the swing that travels from an inside path moving through the ball and then going to the outside all in relation to the target line is a much better shot because it produces if you get the combination of the club face and the path right a draw off shape. So we shot the moves from right to left in the air. Now a draw shape is often seen as the probably the most difficult but also the most rewarding shape to have because it offers extra distance, extra power and it’s something a lot the best players in the world can actually do.
However, an inside to outside swing path, can be just as damaging as an outside to inside swing path something you see slices doing of the ball, it can be just as damaging going in that direction. The best way and the most consistent way to swinging the club is to move the club on a path which is slightly from the inside to square, to slightly on the inside through impact. So not moving so much from in to out, not moving so much from out to in, but moving on a path which is square to in, so if slightly in to square to in.
And if you can get it in that position the club face is going to be a lot easy to square to your target line. And it’s only with that path that you’re going to be able to produce nice straight golf shots. A real key to really good ball striking and to become a better player, is to able to move the club from in to out, to be able to move the club into square to the inside and to be able to move the club from out to in to have the variation and to have the actual shots to call upon when you need. So don’t become too obsessed with an in to out swing path or an out to in try and achieve an inside to square to inside path and then practice the other paths as well, because only when you practice those paths and practice the club face angles, that you’re going to be able to produce the massive kind of vast array of shots that the top players have.
