Why do I hit my golf drives from the toe of the club? Now there are many different reasons why you might hit different parts of the club face at than the point of impact. But if you are striking the ball specifically from the toe there are normally a few common mistakes that you will be making. When you hit the ball from the toe of the club it is normally caused by a swing path which is very much from the inside travelling to the out. As you come from the inside then you travel to the out over the target line here, it’s very much an in to out golf swing, it’s normally the toe of the club which will reach the ball first. And as the toe of the club reaches the ball first that is where the impacts tend to be. Also it can be very toeish strike if you come very shallow on the ball and really try and sweep the ball up into the air not quite keeping the level, not quite just keeping a slight clip off the top of the table by drifting behind and really trying to scoop it off up into the air. So if you are struggling with those kind of toeish strikes make sure you use some face tape first of all which can go across the actual club face to make sure and identify the exact point in which you’re hitting. And if they are from the toe then you’ll find that you might be coming a little too much from in to out and a little bit on the too shallow of a swing path and a swing arc.

If you are struggling check those points first. It could be that you are coming too much from the outside and you’re hitting off the very top of the toe but that is more of a rare event. So check first of all the shallow angle of attack, the in to out swing path, and if those are nicely fixed then we could be having other issues, but normally it is those first two problems, work on those and see how you get on.
