Weight - Golf Lessons & Tips (Video) by Pete Styles

Moving your body weight within your golf swing is an important but it's also quite a contentious factor at the moment particularly in golf coaching. We talk about how when we stand the gold bull classically would like to be about 50/50 with our body weight left and our body weight right also 50/50 toes in heels nicely comfortable. If you're not sure whether you're standing with your body weight nicely centered to start with I would encourage you just to set up to a ball and then tap your toes and tap your heels and each toe should come off the ground evenly and the heel should come off the great ground at the back evenly.

For example if I was leaning aggressively back on to my right leg I would feel it's dead easy to lift my left but very difficult to let my right toe. Likewise if I was sitting back on my heels too much my toes are really easily but my heels would struggle to get off the ground all together. So to try and feel like at the start of your swing you're nice and comfortably balanced.
