Takeaway - Golf Lessons & Tips (Video) by Pete Styles

The take away of the golf club is what we used to describe initial movement from the golf ball. So it kind of links the set up to the backswing. So we have the setup position here I'm going to myself an 8 iron so I'm going to set it with a ball just around about center or maybe slightly ahead of center and get yourself in a good address position good grip good posture there and then my backswing is all what goes on up here.

So the very early part of the backswing that is the takeaway. Now it's probably an underdeveloped part of people swing because it's very difficult to see what's going on in camera really would probably go from here and I would start looking at camera positions and see where we're at but if you're making mistakes in your takeaway because that's the start of the motion if you go in the wrong direction the wrong path. The rest of the journey is not going to be on the right path either well certainly you have to make some fairly fundamental compensations to get back on the right path.
