Slice Shots - Golf Lessons & Tips (Video) by Pete Styles

It feels like a slice shot shouldn't really need any introduction. For a lot of golfers they will have hit slice shots or they will have played with golfers that hit slice shots. So let us break down exactly what this life is and make sure we understand where it comes from as well.

For the right handed golfer a slice shot is officially something that starts to the left of the intended target that finishes to the right of the intended target. Let's just get that right in our head the ball should start left of the target finish right of the target to be called a straight slice. If the ball starts right of target which is pretty common uncurbed to the right a lot of people would call that a push to a block slice but a straight up slice of some of them starts left and finishes right. If it starts left and finishes on target would be more classified as a fade. So a slice is a left to right golf shot if we understand where that comes from we need to know that the club face give the ball around about 85 percent of its influence when it initially sets off.
