In this video tip PGA golf professionals Pete Styles and Matt Fryer would like to suggest a few simple checkpoints to avoid the dreaded slice shots. Having an understanding of the body and shoulder alignment is crucial in the set up. Understanding the position of the grip particularly if the grip is in a weak position is also a crucial checkpoint to reduce the dreaded slice. An additional checkpoint would be to consider the opening and closing of the club face during the swing particularly if the face is open and then not closed during the downswing and ready for impact.
Slicing the golf ball is one of those dreaded feelings that a golfer gets when they stumble upon the tee. They're not really looking down the line at the target the most of the checking out how deep the rough is over there or how big the trees are over there. That always knowing that they're golf ball is going to go that way we look down the line so it's not all that would be ideal but more realistically I'm heading over that way and less the golfer can control that slice it is a pretty duanting feeling actually just on the tee to pull the driver out.

Not a particular enjoyable way to play the game of golf when people know that slice happening and it's also robbing the golfer of a lot of distance. So we're going to look at some really good solid checkpoints and things that are going to help you stop your slice.
