Keeping the Hips in Check on the Downswing by Tom Stickney Tom Stickney - A Top 100 Golf Teacher Tom Stickney – A Top 100 Golf Teacher

Hi I'm Tom Stickney Golf Magazine Top 100 Instructor and today I want to talk to you about one of the biggest issues I see with the starting players and that's people focusing too much on keeping their heads still or down. A lot of times people get their head right here and there riveted with their head and they don't allow themselves to move and to flow freely. OK I didn't say that your head bounce all over but I said you could have if you could ramrod still either.

So if you'll just relax the head will move in response to the pivot. Remember we don't want the head bouncing around independently but if you try to keep it just good solid still you're going to prohibit it when you prohibit motion you're not going to get the zip on the golf ball or the clean contact that you like. So remember the head to react to the pivot it could move a little bit we just don't want to see excess motion.
