When you're looking to create more lag with the driver, one thing that you can do, which is often overlooked, is work on your mental approach to this part of the golf swing. One place where a lot of players become when trying to create more lag is what they're doing is they're trying to pursue more distance. And if you increase the amount of lag angle, you should increase more distance. You don't need to try and force the issue, because what happens is as people coming down into impact, trying to create more lag angle, all of a sudden they're desperately trying to force their hands and force the club down into this position. Now, as far as wrists go and as far as hands go, if you grip tightly and you try and force them into a position throughout the golf swing, it doesn't end well.

What you tend to see is people who are try and force their wrist position more, coming down into the point of impact, will actually decrease the amount of lag angle moving in, rather than get the feeling of increasing. Now the reason that they were approaching this, and what you need to focus on is keeping relaxed throughout this transition phase, from the top of the backswing into the downswing. If you can go about it with the right mindset, and you can go about it with the nice relaxed approach, you can add in that wrist angle moving down into impact, and keep relaxed whilst doing it and not trying to force the issue. Remember, you're moving in increasing speed from this point in the swing down into the point of impact. If you're trying to increase speed from the very, very top of the golf swing as quickly as possible, that will not lead to good results. So try and get your mind in the position where as you're moving down from here into this point just prior to impact, you're keeping relaxed, you're taking your time and you're not trying to hit the ball with that part of the swing. Stay relaxed and change your mindset around that part of the technique.
