Tom Stickney – A Top 100 Golf Teacher
OK If you've ever played golf in the southern California desert in the winter you know it can be windy and as you see as you can here we've got a lot of left right wind going. Now what people forget is that they they don't pay attention this surroundings they just set up to it like they're normally do and they hit it in the ball goes high up in the air it goes off line somewhere. I'm going to give you a couple setup adjustments and one swing adjustments it's going to make it a lot easier for you to do what you're capable of in the wind. First thing tee the ball down we're going to make sure that we can control that golf ball a bit better there we go if we tee it down it's going to be about right around here you know the ever take a couple couple inches 2nd thing we're going to do is going to widen our stance a little bit.
We're going to make sure that with the ball teed down our stance a little bit wider it gives us a little bit more balance and it gives us an opportunity to keep the ball down and not let it get up so high in the wind. Now swing wise if we have a left or right wind you know let's go ahead and use the wind that gives us a little bit more power and it's going to help to know that the ball going to go this way. So here we go wide the stance tee it down a little bit aim a little bit left we're going to ride the wind and here we go. Now as you can see the ball is gently moving left to right we know that the wind going to take it we know that it's going to be very easy for that ball to hit the ground in Iran because we're using wind as an ally not as an enemy but turning it back into it. So if you want to hit more fairways and you ever thought possible in the wind make sure you watch your stance he's a ball down lower and you ride the wind as opposed to fight and if you'll do that you'll have a heck of a lot more fun.
