3 Backswing Wedge Positions by Tom Stickney Tom Stickney - A Top 100 Golf Teacher Tom Stickney – A Top 100 Golf Teacher

Hi I'm Tom Stickney Golf Magazine Top 100 Instructor and today I want to talk to you abouthow to control your 3 wedges. Now a lot of times people with their wedges will take it back and they are not quite sure how to move through it so a lot of times they will go from longer to shorter and lose control their distance and they're not really sure what to do. So let me give you an easy way to do that the 1st way we want to do is put the ball right the center portion of our body from there I would suggest 3 different backstroke positions.

One with a club shaft is parallel to the ground 2 where the left arm is parallel to the ground or 3 or the hands or shoulder high. So all the sudden now if you hit wedges with those 3 different positions you're going to find optimal distances if they're going to go from here and through from here and through and from here and through. So what's going to happen is you have 3 or 4 different wedges you have 3 or 4 different backswing lengths and all the sudden now you can have a lot more distance control. So take the time to make sure you work on your different positions and you always go shorter to longer and if you'll do that I guarantee you will be better on the greens with the wedges.
