Hybrid Golf Clubs, What Are The Key Follow Through Positions (Video) - by Peter Finch

What are the key follow through check points to hit sweet hybrid golf shots? Now on the follow through with the hybrid there are quite a few check points you can actually use to make sure what's happened at impact is correct. So we want a nice full flowing back swing, we want to make sure that the ball position is correct where the hybrid reach for me is just forward of center by a couple of inches just inside the left heel by a couple of inches as well.

Now presuming that we've had a nice full flowing back swing and we have turned down into the ball with the weight transferring moving over to the left side. These are the key check points that you want to see through impact. We want to see the hands and the arms connected in a nice triangle position and rotating through so the clubface actually releases and gets through square to the actual path. So as we turn that body through and we rotate the arms extend outwards towards the target and the right heel begins to lift up off the floor. If we can get into this position here it shows that we fully extend this through the ball we got a real ‘oomph’ of power into the shot, and the hips and the weight is transferred successfully. From there we want that right toe to continue to rise upon to this point until we finish in this position with the eyes, the chest and the belt all facing down towards the target. If you can get into this position it shows that the body is rotated fully and freely and you're in a nice balanced position. If you’re going to achieve this balanced position as well, it kind of flees back as to what's happened at impact. If you are in a balanced position on the follow through, the actual swing which preceded it should have been a balanced position as well. To make sure that ball position is correct the stance just shoulder with the par maybe a little bit more for some stability. Turn through, extend, rotate that body and just try and hold that finish position at the end. And if can get all those factors working together hopefully you’ll be able to hit some very sweet hybrid shots.
