If there's ever a word that a golfer doesn't want to hear particular associating to their own game it's going to be the yips. It comes a probably just ahead of the word shank you know we don't want to shank but we definitely don't want the yips either. The yips which is an odd thing because at no point is anybody ever really managed to clarify exactly what they mean by yip and exactly what a yip is caused by.
If you could ever find a pill that cures the yips you would make a lot of money and you would keep a lot of people playing the game of golf. Cause the yips have created a lot of non-golfers it's put a lot of people off the game because it's such a destructive shot and the yips it can impeach in people's putting game and in people's wedge play. It often affects golfers who aren't hitting full powered shots very rarely would you see somebody yip a driver maybe Charles Barkley we've all seen that youtube video of him coming down and stopping and then he hits it that is a classic yipping action but you apply that to something with less power and he gets very very destructive.
