I think as golfers will have the picture of the ball flying nice and high in far landing upon the green over the bunker landing on the green and stopping nicely next to the flag. That's the picture we have in mind whenever we set up to a a mid to short iron and then as we make our swing a lot of common faults are lifting up as we hit through the ball. We hit the top of the golf ball anything above the equator of the ball I would class as the top part of the ball.
Hitting the top of the ball on the ball scoots off forwards low to the ground into the water into the bunker and does not look like the picture we intended to hit. So we hit the top of the ball straight into the hazard in front of us and like I say the top shot is a very common shot for a lot of golfers when the learning to play the game. So we need to investigate will why you topping the ball and how can you stop that.
