Tom Stickney – A Top 100 Golf Teacher
Hi I'm Tom Stickney Golf Magazine Top 100 Instructor and today I want to talk to you about what I call the hooking pitch shot. Sometimes when you're in this grass right here and it extends a little bit further into this chipping area and the greens cut really tight you don't want to stay that he'd have to hit that superfluous little flop shot because you really don't have a lot of leeway if you don't pull it off. Its tough just dont know how to hit a bump and run it into this longer grass because you don't know how it's going to come out because it could hit soft or could you know could hit hard but let me show you a great way to do this.
To get a little bit more over spin the golf ball and make sure it's scampers through this longer grass all you're going to do is put the ball back in your stance hands and weight are forward and then you take your wedge and hook it in like so obviously aim accordingly. Now that I have my wedge hooked int I'm going to take it aggressive inbound golf swing with a release that puts hook spin on the golf ball which means it's going to come out a little bit lower it's going to bobble through this grass and you'll be you'll have a good chance that it will bobble up on the green as opposed to getting caught up in this grass. So ball back put your wedge in aim accordingly out with a release and that will hook wedge is a great little way to scamper that ball through the long grass without it getting stuck.
