As a golfer and particularly as a golf coach I often focus on the principle that a picture paints a thousand words. And particularly if you are trying analyze impact position a video camera is going to be essential in making sure you are analyzing what you are doing at impact and also what you would like to improve on at impact and to monitor your improvement 3 stages the 1st thing to be get a really good picture of your impact position and allow you to do this with a few different clubs. So you can start with a wedge of 6 on a driver and video yourself from the front you can also video yourself down the line but I think when we talk about impact position most people are going to want to see what it looks like from the front and if you have a slow motion feature on a video camera that would be even better as well. So go ahead and hit a few shells maybe on the driving range of the practice ground using that front on video camera looking for the ball to be placed of around about the normal ball position here. From my eye and in the center of my stance and then get the camera exactly opposite having the camera slightly off place to one side or another can really skew the impact position view.
So straight on with a video camera go ahead and clip a few shots away at full speed and then go back and look at that impact position. Couple key features that you'll be looking for eyes down over the golf ball left heel nice and heavy a good turn of the hips a good extension of the right and the left heel should be lifting off the ground see much check that again with a wage with a 6 on with a drive and make sure that as you turn the power up when you start hitting the ball harder and harder you don't start spinning out of your impact because a shot and changing your impact position until you don't feel like you're nice and strong all the time. Then go ahead and compare your impact position to some of the golf is maybe your favorite golf is quite more importantly golf is with a similar age or physique to the could be told players that be some of the world's best players but there's no. Comparing an impact position for a 5 foot tall person with a 6 and sole person you are in top positions are going to be a little bit different or 20 year old against a 60 year old you in top positions are probably going to be different more dynamic less dynamic. So look at a goal from a similar age, and have a look at how their impact position compares to you. The next time you're the driving range go ahead and clip a few bowls away trying to work on some improvements to impact video that again and see how things are progressed and see how things have changed remember when you're looking adults showing a picture paints a thousand words.
