Where on the clubface should I strike my driver to add distance to my golf shots?

Now when you’re hitting a driver the best and the most consistent part of the club to actually hit the ball is with the center of the clubface. Out of the center of the clubface is where the sweet spot is located and that will give the best amount of proportion off the clubface for your ball. However you do have different options when you’re actually hitting the ball, different points on the clubface which will give different results. Mainly if you hit the ball out of the middle of the clubface with your driver, that’s the sweet spot, and in general, that’s what’s going to give the best distance. However if you’re playing on a very, very windy day, if you hit the ball slightly lower out of the clubface, so just slightly below the sweet spot, the ball is going to travel lower. So if you’re playing into a wind and you want the ball to go a little bit lower, you can tee the ball down, aim to hit the ball below the sweet spot and that will keep the ball low and under the wind. And that will maybe kind of go further than even if you hit it bang out the sweet spot. In an opposite direction, if you were hitting a ball with a downwind, if you want to strike the ball and get it a little bit higher, if you contacted the ball just above the sweet spot, that’s going to give you more launch and it’s going to give you more loft. Now this is all to do with face bulge and the way that the perimeter waiting and the center of gravity is located in your club. So although the sweeter shots and the most consistent shots are going to be hit from the very, very center of the clubface, if you want to get it a little bit lower, you can hit it below the sweet spot. If you want to hit it a bit higher, you can hit it above the sweet spot. Don’t think you can strain to hit it in one place. You can maneuver it about and you can test the different places on the clubface. But in general, if you wan to hit the best shots, strike it out in the middle.
