Okay, so what’s a pulled golf shot? A pulled golf shot is where we set up for the target and for the right-hander, we see the ball going straight down the left-hand side of where we would like to go. Here is the direction we want to go, between the two sticks and we see the ball going out of this angle, going straight or left and staying straight or left, not curving one way or the other. So that is what a pull is, this pulls by lots of different things. And one of the biggest faults is swinging the club, outside and then inside. So because that is one of the biggest contributors to pulling a golf ball, what I have done here is situated a head cover on the inside of the ball, about a foot and a half in front.
And what I want you to do is set yourself up and I want you to focus on trying to hit that golf ball and hitting on the outside of the head cover. So focus on hitting out, so we are actually changing that swing path. Okay, so from here swing the club back and concentrate on hitting out. Now at first, because you have got this head cover here, I want you just to let your swing go back whatever was natural in the first place, whether it was right or wrong, let's see what happens. And if the club goes back and you still hit it, even though you are focusing on hitting down that sort of curve down the right-hand side, then take the club back and think right.
Let's put another head cover here, on this line here. And this time you have got to avoid both head covers. And this time the club will come away from one head cover and away from the other head cover, so it’s a very, very simple drill. A pull is a straight left golf shot, and it’s a simple drill to actually cure that pull once you are out there on your own. You should really have this sorted in about 20 to 30 golf balls and kiss goodbye to that pull.
