Okay. So what are the benefits for hitting longer tee shots? It’s pretty obvious isn’t it, I would imagine to most people, the first thing is if we’re hitting a longer tee shot it means we’ve got a shorter shot into the green, if we’ve got a shorter shot into the green instead of hitting maybe say a 4 iron, we might be hitting a 7 iron or a 6 iron which got more control more loft. So that’s the first thing, the second thing is if you’ve got more length and we’ve got some water like a lake to carry. If you’ve got more club head speed and you get more distance and obviously from there you can carry the ball over trouble. So again obvious factor, what about on a par five if you’re hitting a longer tee shot there’s a possibility you can hit that green in two shots. Maybe par four which was out of your reach is now reachable within two shots, so these are the most obvious factors. What are the benefits of longer tee shots, apart from its longer it means that next shot is shorter, which means arguably hitting an easier club out of your golf pack.

So how do we hit longer drives? This is what we do; first thing tee up the ball position just inside your left heel. The reason for it we want to hit that ball through and up and that’s why we have the ball position forward. The second thing is put your left hand on and your right hand on and I want you to concentrate lifting your left shoulder just slightly higher than what you might been used to doing. Keep that nice and high and the reason for is again is to encourage the impact to hit through and up if that shoulder is down you can imagine can’t you I’ll be hitting down into the ground. So lift that up once we’re in this position so there’s your set up, now from here shoulder arm wrist lets push the club away nice and low. So I’m going to swing this club back sweep it about low nice good shoulder turn I’ve got my weight transferred from here, and I’m going to pull the club back down and as it comes through here I’m going to hit through and up. So let’s put that into normal speed, here I am with that ball position forward with shoulders high, so from here again. Take that club back but nice and low so from here take it back nice and low the weight has gone through into the left hand side, I’ve got plenty of trajectory on that golf ball. And I’ll loft of that club has hit through and up, so very simply there’s some very, very good tips for you to get more distance. The obvious factor is whatever we’ve just said, but to get more distance for the drive watch that ball position, keep that shoulder high and concentrate on taking that club back low and slow. Hit through and up, that’s how you get a little more distance.
