The Golf Ball Logo Can Help with Alignment to Set Up Fade or Draws Golf Senior Tip (Video) - by Dean Butler

Okay, what we’ll talk about here is how we can actually use the logo on a golf ball to actually help you set out for a fade or for a draw. Quite often people just put the golf ball down the ground, obviously on a teeing ground you can put it down. On the fair way, you have to play as it lies. But let’s assume that we are actually on the teeing ground and actually want to play a fade. On every golf ball you have a name, it could be Titleist or Scotty or whatever the name is or quite often now they have like a line goal for the ball, around the ball. You can get these plastic cups, you can put them over the top or use a felted pen and draw nice lines, there’s nothing illegal against that. And that line can help you tremendously. So let me just kind of talk you through what we’re talking about with the logo.

Imagine that line around the ball. I’ll put it on the tee pack and I now want to play a fade. Now a fade for a right-handed is a ball that can start gently to the left and just tip toe its way back into the green from left to right. So, because I want to come across the ball, I’m going to aim that line a little bit to the left of the target to start with. Then from there, I would have put the club face behind the ball on line, so that line will make the job easy. Remember we’ve stood behind the ball hopefully here’s what we normally do on the tee. So I’m behind the ball, lined and then we’ll pick a little marker in front, and then put the club behind the ball as in line with the line of the logo side. From there, take your normal grip, separate your feet, so your feet are running parallel to that line. Then from there we want you to think about swinging the club along the line that you’ve created with that logo. So from here, the swing would naturally now go slightly outside the line and then coming across the line. And by doing that you’re going to hit across the ball, you across the ball. You’ll notice part, a little bit spin on the ball, a little bit of a fade because of what we’ve done here at alignment. Now of course for a draw, you’re going to reverse it and just turn the arrow around the other way. So you can actually use that logo to help you create one of those two shots. But remember, you can only do this on the teeing ground. If you do it on the fair way, you’re going to get penalized because you’re not allowed, unless it’s winter rules to actually move that ball. So from the tee it’s a good tip to use the logo of your golf ball to line it up for every slight to the left or to the right and go through the steps as I’ve explained. And from that, you should find yourself just making the shots, a fade or a draw, a little bit easy for you to play. But remember, it doesn’t happen overnight, so just a little bit of practice and you should get the results that you’re looking for.
