Robert Garrigus Pro Golfer Massive rotation equal monster drives, Golf (Video) - by Pete Styles

You’ve watched any golfer over the recent years, you’ll appreciate Robert Garrigus is one of the biggest hitters on the PGA Tour. But more impression than that, he actually hits the ball one of the farthest distances with one of the shortest back swings. Very rarely, even with his driver, he takes the golf club passed the parallel position. He actually swings the golf club quite short for a big hitter. But his power and his movement from the top, is where he really generates a lot of his energy from.

If we watch his swing in slow motion, it’s a little ¾ moved to the top, then his left knee then his left hip clear out of the way incredibly quickly. The knee drives over the toe. The left hip spins out the way incredibly fast. His right heel is way up into the air through the impact area. Right heel drives up big spin out to a finish and the right tip toe is on the floor at the end. He still quite balance through his shot but he does have quite a little fancy footwork particularly with his woods a little bit more stable, a little bit more planted when he’s hitting his ions. He’s free too a lot quitter when he’s hitting his ions.

But if you want to generate a lot of power in your down swing, but you don’t have the flexibility to make a massive back swing, just work on how fast you can get your hips and your left knee forwards and round out of the way. The faster you can clear your bottom half, the faster this golf club can get drag through the impact area and accelerating the club into the ball. So if you don’t have a massive back swing, but you won’t massive power, watch Robert Garrigus’ swing and see where he generates the power and the energy from to be one of the longest hitters on the PGA Tour.
