Why Is The Alignment Of My Golf Shots So Important To The Scores That I Make? (Video) - by Dean Butler

So why’s the alignment of my golf shot so important to the shots that I make? Well it’s really pretty straight forward really. If you can imagine if you were the target there and I was actually aiming over there, would you expect me to hit the ball where you are? Well of course you wouldn’t. So alignments and aim is so so vital and there’re two components here, one is the actual alignment of the club face where you aim that club face and second one is where you position your body. So we know what the answer to the question is, but let’s show you what you need to do. That’s a pre shot routine which makes the game of golf a little bit simpler in what you have to do. So we talk about alignment and how important this is. So the first thing we need to do is to put the club face behind the ball on line. So to do that first of all, just imagine every time you go out there having a spot just in front of the ball that’s aligning between the ball and the target that you want to hit.

And to find that marker, you need to go stand behind, so if I should go stand behind before a play golf shot and I look at the target where I want to hit for, I’m looking for a marker just no more than six inches in front of my ball. Very, very important, but if I put that club face behind my ball align for that, I can assure you that 99.9% of the time, you’ll have it in the right position so we starting off correct from the very first go. Once you’ve through your routine, it’s now a case of putting your feet parallel to what we called club to target line which is represented from my club to that marker that second ball in front and the feet run parallel. So at parallel, parallel line, it’s just is much in the club face on line and then the feet here running parallel as you can see the running nice and true to my club face that would be an open set zone and that would be a closed set zone. So alignment is very, very important, very, very important it’s no good having a fantastic posture and great swing but you’re aiming in the wrong direction. So it’s vital to correcting, making you play better shots lowering those scores but the most important factor that people tend to forget about is a very simple pre shot routine that can actually hit straight to golf balls and just lower your scores.
