The chicken wing swing is probably quite a cruel thing to say to people when we have them on the lesson tee we watch a video of their swing and we say look at you you've got a chicken wings swing. I tell you what people remember it people say I'm working on my chicken wing they will look at the video in the next couple of weeks time they say look the chicken wings disappear or hopefully disappear because chicken wing swings are not a good thing. A chicken wing swing is where we take the elbows from quite a good position with the elbow the close together and we follow through into this position where the elbows pull apart.
Now some people have a little chicken wing some people have a massive set of chicken wings. Now fundamentally it's not really a good thing we should try and avoid that and this is where I say somebody or you should try and avoid that that's not good and some real throwback it may well Jordan Spieth does it and Lee Westwood does it and you go Ok some players do it and some players get away with doing it for various reasons whether it's been an injury or just an old habit that they've got into but for most golfers certainly for most good players it's not a very efficient way to swing the golf club.
