Lead Foot Helps Turn Hip's by Tom Stickney Tom Stickney - A Top 100 Golf Teacher Tom Stickney – A Top 100 Golf Teacher

Hi I'm Tom Stickney Golf Magazine Top 100 Instructor and today I want to talk to you about your left foot fixation how the left foot controls hip actions on the way to the top and the way through. The most common position is when your left foot is parallel and perpendicular to your target line from there what's going to happen is it's going to allow a free turn to the top, and all the way through. That's the most common position that sometimes you'll see people will turn their left foot out just a little bit. What that's going to do is that's going to really restrict backstroke length just little bit at the hips. and Make you have a full finish all the way through.

The final positions if you try it out a little bit more it really restricts backstroke hip action and really exacerbates the finish position. So what you're going to have to find is remember when you move your left foot in different positions it will either allow you to have a free or restricted backstroke turn, and It will allow you to have a free or explosive finish. So if you're having trouble controlling your backstroke you might want to turn it out if you're having trouble moving through the golf ball you might want to turn it out. So experiment with those 2 things and I will guarantee you will have a lot more fun with your hip action.
