So before we understand now the principle in a golf swing we want to try and keep everything fairly quiet, fairly simple; we’re looking at the eyes being leveled throughout the golf swing. When you focus on that in your golf swing you'll often find that you'll be able to do a couple of things a little bit better. So during the setup phase we stand to the golf ball, stand up nice until the eyes are going to be leveled. During the swing if we can keep the eyes leveled we should make a more consistent golf swing.
The first key benefit of that is that we’re going to make a more solid contact, which just goes before about how there is a sweet spot in the middle of the clubface is around about the size of a thumbnail pretty much right in the middle of the irons, of the putter, of the driver all the same hitting that sweet spot is essential if you want to be a good ball striker, and who doesn’t want to be a good ball striker. Good ball strikers make good players, we know that. So being a good ball striker is important, keeping your eyes level to enable you to get that good ball strike is quite important as well.
Next thing we’re going to look at is having good rhythm within your swing. So, we know that if we can keep our eyes leveled generally it gives us a nice central column. We have this nice central column that we can then swing the club around and with that we’ll generally keep good rhythm particularly in your downswing. If you get to the top and you get a big quick generally the quick pulling down motion from the top will cause the head to dip in the eyes to twist. So, focus on keeping your eyes level to keep some really good rhythm throughout your golf swing.
One last thing that we would like to see is that the ability to unlock some power by keeping those eyes leveled. And again, it kind of links to the previous one that when you get too quick off the top, when you squat down and dip too much you're not really going to generate the power that you need. So the eyes being leveled, well I actually feel like it creates a nice rotational action, so in the setup position here we want to make a nice rotational swing where the club comes around the body and back down again the eyes being leveled will facilitate that.
Lifting up and twisting the head and then banging back down again kind of twirls, twist the eyes a little bit when we lift up here and pull down. So a more level rotational action generally is going to be more powerful, have better rhythm, and get a better contact on the golf ball simply by keeping your eyes level during the golf swing.
