When we start to think about body weight movement within the golf' swing we appreciate how moving that body weight can generate a huge amount of power for us within our swing. So as we set up to the golf ball the body weight should be largely fifty-fifty as we turn in towards our rear leg. The body weight should shift into the trail like around about sixty five percent and then it moves back across again and it's the process of moving it back and then moving it forward that can help us generate a lot of power by almost sort of loading and then exploding. It's almost like the elastic band principle that you pull the elastic band back to load it and then you let it go and it restores back to its original position but with a lot of energy a lot of speed. So in a goal swing scenario here I've got a seven iron fifty fifty set up to start with as I turn back in towards my real leg my right leg as a right handed golfer I put around about sixty five percent of body weight into my right leg from here I hold it and I drive back forward and the process of moving that forward is not just a sort of a slide back across it's an actual loading up and pushing down on that right foot to explode back across.

This way to like to see you do is hit a few shots on the driving range where you really emphasize that right for loading and releasing almost with a little bit of a pause in your swing so it's a good set up. Turn back and feel like you press into that right foot pull down feel like you're loading and then unload as you turn through to a nice full finish and it's the loading and the loading that generates the power. So again imagine your that a lasting band principle of loading and unloading that swing so from a good set position press into the right leg hold it and then push off it and as you push off you should feel powerful as you come through the ball and you should feel balance fully finished onto my front foot here my right foot. On to the tip toe nice little bit after the ball tells me that I was shifting nicely across I wasn't hanging back too much and the key to being all of that is balanced throughout the whole swing all through the swing was nicely balanced load and release to get more distance in your golf shots.
