When you are putting, it’s very important we get two hands working together as a team. Here we get one hand working more than the other then one becomes a passenger and one becomes a leader. And of course when that happens this sort of thing happens one leads and one goes. So there is a lot of inconsistency there. So we are going to try and get both hands to work together so we are talking about a flat palm putter grip. What do I mean?

If I put my left hand on to the side of the actual putter and put my hand down is actually sat in the palm of my hand. It keeps it nice and neutral it’s not over the top it’s not under, it’s just down the front. With a right hand let’s do the same thing again let’s put this right hand on same position you’ll notice I’ve got two thumbs down the center, one full finger down the front and one down there. So I have got a grip which is mirror image and this creates a nice palm grip. You might think why do we need to use this? Remember we don’t want one hand working against the other this way neutralizes the pressure into both hands nice and lightly grip and by gripping nice and light it’s now going to emphasize by swinging the club with my shoulders backwards and forwards. Nice and light does have a balance grip from this position here I’ll swing it back with the shoulders backwards and forwards again you can see maintaining this letter Y keep my eyes over the top of the ball backwards and forwards. My body as you can see is not moving very, very still so when you are out there and you need to get a little bit more consistency and see again look at the two handed palm grip put your hands together get a equal grip, there is no good having one hand around here and one beneath here putting. That is a grip that you can see the balance too much on the left hand and the right hand will be tending to flick into it. So getting a nice balance grip will allow us to actually have a putting stroke where the putter will actually go back on a straight line backwards and forwards so if I get myself here, take the putter back and through and she pops. If I alter the position of my hands, this time let’s go move my left hand too far over, watch what happens with the take away I am not doing this deliberately, let’s put the left-hand over. [Indiscernible] [0:02:33] a lot of people do have, clear all the way over they want to take away this time. Can you just see how that putter came right to the side? Because just like you would do on a driver that left hand was over the top you would pull that club on the inside. So this is all about a two palm grip what I refer as a neutral grip let’s put the hands here. And if you are still not sure about– of the actually feeling of it, get yourself a ruler and just put between your hands and just hold it like this. I’m matching the ruler between the palms in your hands and from here keep it there and you can is see the action of my shoulders, the pendulum and it builds up a lovely consistency I lovely feel and that’s what we are striving for here. So again just like anything whenever you make a change from something that you used to it takes time, it takes practice and it takes a big work commitment. Go and put this into practice on the putting green don’t expect things to change immediately but I think thirty minutes down the line there is something so simple like this you’ll build a better feel and a lot more consistency in your putts.
