What are the key set up checkpoints to hit sweet hybrid golf shots? Now when you actually get set up, it has a major effect on how you actually swing. Many people overlook the important aspects of the set up because they want to get stuck into the meat of the swing. But how you get set up address will affect how that club moves around the body. Now if you want to get set up in a strong position, there are a couple of check points that you can use. First of all you want a nice strong posture where the back is nice and straight and it tilts forward from the hips and then you have a little bit of knee flex. If you are in the strong position, this posture will be able to support the actual strain and the actual speed of your swing. So in short that you’re in a strong posture position then when you’re actually addressing the ball, what you actually want to make sure is that the ball position is correct for your relevant times, I have a 5 iron replacement here, the ball’s going to be just forward a centre in my stance, my feet, a shoulder width apart and my spine angle is slightly tilted away from the target, so my shoulders are on a slight tilt as well. And this will ensure that my spine angle will be in the correct position throughout the swing. If I could hit these first kind of key check points I know I’m in such a solid position to hit the shot, and no matter what happens to my swing, if I get into these solid set up positions, I’ve got more of a chance of getting that club back to the ball in a good position. So if you shoulder with the par, left toe out slightly to a hip turn, slight tilt in the spine, solid, solid posture, swing away. So it goes through those key aspects of your set up and hopefully when you hit your hybrid you should have some sweet shots.
