If you have ever looked in any golf shops or online and you are looking to buy equipments and particularly looking at buying putters you will see myriad of different types and styles and designs. The one thing you have got to try and drill down, is which of those styles would better for your putting stroke, so it’s not just picking a putter on the appearance and how it looks but which one works best for your putting stroke.
Now one of the things you will often hear about with putter is, is it a faced balanced putter or is it a toe down putter, another way to tell with your own putter or the putter you are looking at purchasing, just need to balance the putter on your finger here and as you look at the club you will see whether the toe hangs down which as it does on my putter or parallel to the ground horizontal here which is a face balance putter, now each one of those styles or designs can work better for particular strokes. If you have a very sort of gated action and inside square inside action that could often work better with a heel shafted or toe down putter because the putter wants to swing around the heel access. If you have a face balanced putter that would often designed and work better if you had a straight back and straight through putting stroke. And if you have a fault in your stroke and you feel like you want to just try and iron it out so you don’t swing too much inside outside and you want to swing straighter, maybe a face balanced putter would be the one for you. So next time you are in the shop and you trying out a few different bits or you are doing your research online, consider whether a face balanced putter where the putts sit flat or a toe down putter would work best for you, if you have picked them up, try them out you will often feel that one just feels more comfortable straight away and that might be because that putter suits your stroke better and if you can get the right putter that should improve your scores nicely.
