The technical aspects of putting might not be too technical but there's certainly where it's a simplistic technical game it's a very complicated mental game. I think a lot of golfers over complicate the mental side of putting somewhat and they don't think clearly necessarily on the putting green. So a couple of key tips to try and clear your mind for some really good focused putting techniques the first thing to consider would be that speed is king in any putt that you're overtaking speed will control obviously how far the ball goes but speed will also control the line because if the putt has any degree a break the fast you hit that put the later or the less it will break and if you hit it slower the earlier and the sooner and bigger it will break. So speed controls not only distance but also the line of putt but when we're addressing a putt a lot of people are thinking about if I get this and I get a par if I get this and I get a birdie. And I can see it curves this way and I really want to hit on that line and then with actually step up to hit the ball they forget how hard I meant to hit it the over hit on the hit and that can often cause a three part.
So speed is often going to be the king when you're taking your putts and to that and we don't want to be too aggressive I think some people focus so much on the ball really should go in on a try and get this ball in every time and of course we want to get the ball in every time but if we're too aggressive we actually make the whole field smaller because the balls rolling really quickly towards a small hole. The whole field small it won't go it alone if it does mess we missed the next one coming back instantly again we've had a number three putt. So speed is important let's not be too aggressive. The other thing we said is trying to play mind is actually to take a little bit of a break a mental and physical break. So let's imagine would put it up to here in the balls finished here we take a marker put the team the ground or a coin behind. stand back in we clean the ball. Now if it's still our turn to put Or if everyone else has already finished out then it's my go again but I will actually just take a step back just. Forget about the previous one mark the ball set it up and go again and just having that physical and the mental break is quite worthwhile but sometimes if the ball rolls close to the hole somebody might say to me right still you still you're on a right you mean you straight in there and you're trying to hit the putt but you haven't given yourself that time to have that mental or physical break sometimes you rush that put you missed that and certainly then we've had over three point. So the key to avoiding the three putts is getting the distance control right not being too aggressive and having a mental physical break just to clear your mind particularly when you've got to be short ones left clearing your mind should increase increase your chances of holing putts and decrease your three putts.
